hehe..i'm not expert yet in Gynecological Health, but sharing is soo nice.

Menorrhagia is an abnormal uterine bleeding characterized by heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding. (kedatangan haid yang banyak dan lama).

Causes are :
1.Hormonal imbalance.
Ketidakseimbangan hormon estrogen dan progesteron yang berfungsi dalam kitaran penebalan dinding uterus/rahim(endometrium lah bahasa sains dia).

2.Dysfunction of the ovaries.
Because of  lack of ovulation (anovulation) may cause hormonal imbalance and result in menorrhagia.

3.Uterine fibroids
noncancerous benign tumour.

4. Polyps.
Small, benign growths on the lining of the uterine wall (uterine polyps) may cause heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding.

5.Adenomyosis.
This condition occurs when glands from the endometrium become embedded in the uterine muscle, often causing heavy bleeding and pain.

6.Intrauterine device (IUD). devices used for birth control.

7.Pregnancy complications.
A single, heavy, late period may be due to a miscarriage.

8.Cancer.
Rarely, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and cervical cancer can cause excessive menstrual bleeding.

9. Inherited bleeding disorders.
Some blood coagulation disorders — such as von Willebrand's disease, a condition in which an important blood-clotting factor is deficient or impaired — can cause abnormal menstrual bleeding.

10.Medications.
Certain drugs, including anti-inflammatory medications and anticoagulants (to prevent blood clots), can contribute to heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding

11.liver, kidney, or thyroid disease

Risk factors-Orang yang mempunyai kemungkinan untuk medapat disease ini adalah:

Adolescent girls who have recently started menstruating.
Girls are especially prone to anovulatory cycles in the first year and a half after they have their first menstrual period (menarche).

Older women approaching menopause.
Women ages 40 to 50 are at increased risk of hormonal changes that lead to anovulatory cycles.

Need to seek treatment from Doctor/ health provider because there are complications may develop later, like
Iron deficiency anemia. In this common type of anemia, your blood is low on hemoglobin, a substance that enables red blood cells to carry oxygen to tissues.
Severe pain.

Now, knowing what treatment for this disease :

  • iron supplementation (if the condition is coupled with anemia, a blood disorder caused by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin)
  • prostaglandin inhibitors such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), such as aspirin or ibuprofen (to help reduce cramping and the amount of blood expelled)
  • oral contraceptives (ovulation inhibitors)
  • progesterone (hormone treatment)
  • endometrial ablation - a procedure to destroy the lining of the uterus (endometrium).
  • endometrial resection - a procedure to remove the lining of the uterus (endometrium).
  • hysterectomy - surgical removal of the uterus.this stage, maybe sudah kronik. buang rahim. jadi take good care of your health ok ladies!!!
