Friday are the most Precious Gift From ALLAH SWT..

Assalamualaykum kawan2 semua...hiihih..

kawan2 tau kan selalunya orang sambut Father's Day pada bulan Jun.. Heboh kat tv and radio semua.. Emm saya pun dah terikut2 nak sambut hari bapa ni.. But, before that, friends let's check out the history of Father's Day.. Siapalah yg pandai2 reka hari ni erk????...
The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.

Having been raised by her father, William Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.

*In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City. Father's Day was recognized by a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1956.

*In 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. So Father's Day was born in memory and gratitude by a daughter who thought that her father and all good fathers should be honored with a special day just like we honor our mothers on Mother's Day.

Actually, i found a lot of articles claimed about the history of father's day.. and maybe one of you would point out to me and say, 'Hey, you are a Muslim?? How could you enthusiastic to know about this??" Well, my answer, " I just wan to know.. Knowing makes my mind busy to think, and fill up my knowledge",yeah!!!
Next we're gonna try to look what Muslims should found about this 'historical day'..huahua..

The well-known scholar Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Undoubtedly singling out one day in the year to celebrate and honor mothers or families is one of the newly-innovated matters that were not done by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) or by his blessed companions, so we must not do that and we must warn the people against it, and be content with that which Allah and His Messenger have prescribed."

Scholars' Objections to Mother's Day and Father's Day

Although honoring and respecting one's parents is incumbent upon Muslims, most scholars object to the observance of Mother's Day and Father's Day. This is because:

  • Muslims should adhere to their own religion and avoid following non-Muslim traditions.
  • Mothers and fathers should be loved, respected, obeyed and appreciated every day, with no need to single out special days to honour to them.
  • Celebrating holidays other than Islamic holidays is regarded as bid'ah (innovation) and therefore forbidden.
so friends... in spite of that, what should we know????

Honoring Parents in Islam as the ties of kinship are very important in Islam, with emphasis given to the relationship between children and parents. Children are required to respect and obey their parents unless doing so involves a sin.
Furthermore, adult children must continue to honor, respect and show gratitude to their elderly parents, and are expected to care for and support them.

In the Quran..
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness lower to them the wing of humility and say: 'My Lord! Bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.'” (Qur'an 17:23)

(Surah Al-Isra, ayat:23)

***Let us recite the doa,jom!!!***
